Health & Safety

For the World Congress on Rehabilitation (WCR) 2024, is dedicated to ensuring a secure environment for all congress participants, staff, speakers and other on-site individuals.

In alignment with current best practices, certain Health & Safety policies have been adapted or introduced to mitigate risks and promote a safe in-person conference experience.

  • WCR2024 urges all attendees to act responsibly in safeguarding their own health and that of fellow participants. Additional safety measures may be implemented as deemed necessary subject to the prevailing advice from respective government or international entities.
  • WCR2024 pledges to meet or exceed all local government health policies and venue requirements, with updates communicated through this webpage and congress email.
By registering for the congress, you expressly agree to comply with all terms and conditions outlined by WCR2024.
  • If you experience any COVID symptoms before collecting your congress badge or develop symptoms while on-site, please refrain from entering the congress.
  • In the event of a positive COVID-19 test during the conference:
  • Do not re-enter the conference.
  • Inform close contacts of your positive test.
  • Notify info@wcri2024ad.com.

Cancellation & Refunds for WCR2024

Conference Registration Cancellations

Cancellation requests received by July 1, 2024, are fully refundable and will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations between July 2, 2024 and August 20, 2024 will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations on or after August 21, 2024, will not be eligible for a refund.

To request a refund, submit your cancellation request to info@wcr2024ad.com .with "Refund" in the subject line. If you cancel your registration on or after August 21, 2024, you will not be eligible for a refund. For inquiries, contact info@wcr2024ad.com

Cancellation requests received:
  • By July 1, 2024: Full refund
  • Between July 2, 2024 and August 20, 2024: Refund minus a $50 cancellation fee
  • On or after August 21, 2024: No refund
Hotel cancellations should be made directly with the hotel.
We strongly advise checking directly with your airline and/or rail carrier for information on cancellations.

Code of Conduct for WCR2024

This Code of Conduct applies to in-person conferences hosted by WCR 2024. WCR conferences encompass keynote presentations, concurrent sessions, live poster Q&A and workshops.

The World Congress on Rehabilitation (WCR 2024), organized for the first time in the history of the RI World Congresses - Rehabilitation International is joining forces with the International Social Security Association to bring the biggest World Congress on Rehabilitation 2024 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) the multi-award-winning venue, that has hosted some of the world's leading events in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

WCR2024 values your attendance and is committed to ensuring a productive and inspiring experience by encouraging an open exchange of ideas within a professional setting.

The Code of Conduct is designed to establish transparent standards and guidelines for acceptable behavior at WCR 2024, creating a positive, safe and welcoming environment for all attendees, volunteers and staff.

All conference participants, irrespective of their role, are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout the conference, including keynote presentations, concurrent sessions, live poster Q&A sessions and workshops.

Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning speech or actions by any participant at all related events.
  • Harmful or prejudicial comments or visual content related to various personal characteristics, including those protected by law.
  • Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in any communication channel.
  • Deliberate intimidation or stalking.
  • Sustained disruption of scientific sessions or other events.
  • Unwelcome and uninvited attention or contact.
  • Real or implied threat of physical or professional/financial harm.
  • Unauthorized photographing or reproducing of slides.
  • Recording of scientific sessions without permission.
  • Substance abuse within the ADNEC venue.
To confidentially report a Code of Conduct violation or file a complaint, including one against a WCR 2024 volunteer or staff member, please speak to the nearest Security staff or call 02 406 4444 if they wish to report or escalate anything.
Anyone asked by WCR 2024 staff, ADNEC Security or Management, Organizer, Session Chair, Workshop Leader, Moderator, Presenter to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Retaliation will not be tolerated.

Consequences may include:
  • Immediate removal from in-person session.
  • Immediate removal from site.
  • Restrictions from future WCR 2024 congress.
  • Incidents may be reported to the relevant authorities.
Attendees are permitted to live tweet during presentations unless the speaker explicitly opts out. Taking or sharing photos, videos or reproductions of posters is not allowed without presenter consent. By attending a WCR 2024conference, you grant WCR 2024 the right to use your name and likeness for educational, news or promotional materials.
When viewing poster materials, refrain from citing or reproducing any part of the posters without the presenter's permission.
WCR 2024 is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. The Organizing Committee aims to select speakers and session chairs that represent the breadth and diversity of the discipline. WCR 2024 encourages the Committee to choose speakers from groups traditionally underrepresented in science.

For equitable planning, WCR 2024 Equity and Inclusion Committee has prepared a Vision for Inclusive Conferences, emphasizing equity, accessibility, and inclusion throughout conference planning.
